Ingredients
For the syrup
- 1 cup of white granulated sugar
- 1 cup of cold water
- 1 cup (250 grams) fresh or frozen blueberries
- 1 cup of cold water
- 1 cup of milk of choice (steamed if you want to make it hot)
- 1-2 tsp of Javy coffee concentrate
- Ice cubes (for cold version)
- OPTIONAL: Whipped cream to finish it up
Directions
To make the syrup:
- In a small saucepan, combine the blueberries, cold water, and white granulated sugar. Place it on the stove on medium heat, while continually stirring, heat the mixture.
- Once the sugar has dissolved completely and the blueberries have gone a bit soft, lower the heat. Leave the mixture to bubble away for a few more minutes.
- After the blueberries are super soft, remove the saucepan from the heat.
To make the syrup smoother
- place a handheld mixer (or blender) into the mixture until the blueberries are super fine. Use a sieve if needed to make sure the syrup is smooth.
- Transfer the syrup into a resealable container and store it in the fridge.
To make the Latte
- In a large cup add ice and 3-4 tablespoons of blueberries syrup. Pour the milk into a glass and froth it for a few seconds, then add it to your ice cup and leave the milk to settle for 30 seconds so that the milk layers can form
- Finish it by adding Javy Coffee concentrate. Stir until it combines together with the milk and syrup
